About MedTravel-R

What does MedTravel-R do?

MedTravel-R helps organise diagnosis, treatment, and second medical opinions abroad. We support patients on the organisational side of the process: helping with the initial case assessment, communication with clinics, and coordination before, during, and after the trip.

Do you provide medical services?

No. MedTravel-R is not a medical institution and does not provide medical services. We help patients organise interaction with clinics, doctors, and other participants involved in the process.

Why do patients contact a coordinator instead of approaching a clinic directly?

Because it helps save time and makes the organisational process easier to understand. When contacting clinics independently, patients often have to deal on their own with medical documents, communication, timelines, and comparing different options. We help make this process more structured and manageable.

Do you continue supporting patients after treatment is completed?

Yes, when necessary we continue providing organisational support after the patient returns home. This may include obtaining medical documents, arranging remote communication with the treating doctor, and helping with related organisational matters after the trip.

About treatment abroad

Why do patients consider treatment or diagnosis abroad?

The reasons may vary depending on the specific situation. Most often, patients consider this option when they want an alternative medical opinion, need diagnosis within a shorter timeframe, or wish to consult a particular clinic or specialist.

Is treatment abroad always very expensive?

Not necessarily. The cost depends less on the country itself and more on the specific medical case. The final amount is influenced by the scope of diagnostics, treatment plan, length of stay, type of hospitalisation, as well as the cost of medications and procedures. A realistic estimate can only be made after reviewing the individual case.

Is treatment abroad considered only in complex cases?

No. Diagnosis or treatment abroad is not limited to severe or complicated situations. In many cases, patients seek a second medical opinion, clarification of a diagnosis, planned diagnostics, check-up programmes, or a clearer treatment and examination pathway.

How are the country, clinic, or specialist selected?

The choice depends not on a “best country overall” but on the specific medical case. Factors usually include the diagnosis, nature of the medical situation, goals of the request, clinic profile, availability of the required specialist, timing, logistics, and other individual circumstances. For this reason, such decisions are always made individually.

About the organisational process

Where should I start if I am considering treatment or diagnosis abroad?

The first step is to contact us and briefly describe your situation. At the initial stage, basic information about the case and available medical documents is usually sufficient. After that, it becomes easier to understand which options are worth considering further.

What documents or information are usually needed at the initial stage?

At the initial stage, only the main medical documents related to the reason for the request are usually needed. In most cases, brief discharge summaries, doctors’ reports, test results, and other key materials in concise form are sufficient. If you have CT, MRI, or PET-CT scans, it is advisable to include the discs or digital images from the beginning. Additional documents are usually requested later only if they are genuinely needed by the doctor or clinic.

How long does organising a treatment trip usually take?

The timeframe depends on the specific case and the urgency of the request. In some situations, the initial organisation can begin relatively quickly if the patient already has the necessary documents and the medical request is clear. Exact timelines are always determined individually.

Do you help with organisational matters beyond communication with the clinic?

Yes, we assist with the organisational side of the process within the scope of our role. This may include coordination of communication, collection of necessary information, coordination of further steps, as well as assistance in obtaining documents from the clinic that may be required for a visa application. At the same time, we do not participate in visa review procedures and do not influence visa decisions.

How are financial matters related to treatment organised?

Financial conditions always depend on the specific case, clinic, and scope of medical services. MedTravel-R does not finance treatment and does not participate in financial settlements between the patient and those providing medical services. Our role is the organisational support of the patient throughout different stages of the process. Depending on the situation, this may include communication with the clinic, coordination of interactions, support during the stay, resolution of administrative matters, and other related organisational tasks. The format of support and related services is discussed individually.

Not every question can be answered correctly in a general format in advance — much depends on the specific medical situation.
